Thematic European Network of Nursing (TENN
) belongs to the Socrates Higher Education Programme. The aim of this
network is to promote exelellence and to develop best practice of nursing
practice. Dr Saarikoski is a member of Mentorship sub-group.
The project is co-ordinated by St Martins College in the UK.

Project Manager and co-designer of a digital teaching package covering
family-orientated care of acute psychosis. This digital learning package
'ADMISSIONS - English and Psychiatric
Care' enables students and practitioners to study English and
psychiatric care simultanously.

Member of the educational team responsible for developing a Finnish
physical restraint -training programme for use with health care practitioners.
The original British technique has been modified. The modified programme
is called 'Hallittu fyysinen rajoittaminen' HFR
in Finnish.

Principal Investigator (PI) in the international research project (2007-2009)
to develop a new sub-scale for
measuring the quality of nurse teachers co-operation with
the crucial actors in the clinical practice of student
nurses (CLES+T scale). Seventeen Nursing Schools
from nine European countries have joined to the study. The
countries are Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, Italy, Ireland,
Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and UK.

Member of the
Evaluating the Quality of Workplace Learning for Student
Nurses -project (2009-2010). The R&D-project
is organised by Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of
Technology (CPIT) and funded by Ako Aotearoa. The aim of the
project is e.g. to validate CLES+T scale also in New Zealand
nurse education context.
